WHAT COMES WITH REGISTRATION?
Your registration fee covers the following:
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
ASA Softball leagues are age-based and requirements for each are based on the Amateur Softball Association registration guidelines. ASA Softball reserves the right to consolidate leagues if a single league has four (4) or fewer Teams or if the Softball Board deems consolidation is necessary for the benefit of the program.
To register a player, please click on the blue Registration button, located at the left of the page.
Registration fees must be paid by credit card at the time of registration. If you choose to pay by check you must come to the ASA office to register in person. Registration forms for registering in person are available at the Forms button to the left of the page.
-
Playing Up - Players may play up ONE (1) year from their DOB, with the exception of TBall. T-Ball players may not play up in to the T-Ball league. Players must be born by 2010 in order to play T-Ball. No Exceptions!
-
Playing Down - We do not allow any Players to play down at any time.
-
Team / Player Requests - We do not make any guarantees on Team placement unless your child's name is listed on a team roster submitted by the Head Coach. If you would like your child to play for a particular Team you must contact the Head Coach to inquire about having your child on the team. If you would like your child to play with a particular player/friend you may put a request in the notes section of the registration. We will make every effort possible to honor a friend/player request but there are no guarantees.
TEAM FORMATION
There are two ways teams are formed for the ASA Softball program.
-
Bring Your Own Team - A Coach can put together a Team of Players from his/her child's school or neighborhood or otherwise. The coach will submit a Team Roster to the ASA office so the Players will all be guaranteed to be placed on the Team. Teams should have a minimum of 8 Players to submit a roster. Remaining roster spots, up to a roster max of 12, could be filled through the Player Draft. If you are unable to produce a roster of 8 Players, contact the appropriate League Director to discuss other possible options
-
Pre-formed team rosters are due to the ASA Office by TBD and are located in the Coach & Parent Resources section located in the right-side links.
-
Players on Pre-formed teams should register individually and mark ‘On a Pre-Formed Roster’ as the Registration Type. The league will use the Pre-Formed Team Roster submitted by the Head Coach to place the players on their Teams.
-
Draft Teams - New or redrafting Players who are not aligned with a particular Team can register to enter the draft. The league makes every effort to place Draft Players on Teams with Players from their school/neighborhood but there are no Player placement guarantees. Drafts Players should register individually and mark ‘Enter Draft’ as the Registration Type. The league will complete existing/new rosters with draft Players once registration has ended.
GAMES & PRACTICES
Softball games will be played on designated weeknights with Saturday games scheduled, as necessary. Each league will have a different weeknight for games, as listed above. Games are played at the following locations:
-
6U through 10U - Allen Station Softball Complex
-
12U & 14U - Allen Station Softball Complex, Founders Park (Wylie) and Craig Ranch (McKinney).
Practices are up to the discretion of the Head Coach. Once teams are formed, Coaches will inform Parents and Players of a practice time, day and location for their Team. We do not place Players based on when or where a Team practices because that information is not available during the registration/Team formation process.
Season dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather, facility availability and other uncontrollable events.
